Texas A&M University College Station - TAMU 2.5 TAMU Greeklife summed up in one word: mid. If you feel it's something you really need, then do it. But I say save the $$$ and join an org. You'll still meet a ton of people but there's usually less drama. For girls look at Sweethearts, Ryllies, Belles, AZX or Maggies. For guys check out AMA, AMC, AGI or BCA.

Texas A&M University College Station - TAMU 2.3 Texas A&M has the strangest greek culture I've ever seen. Almost anyone can be in a greek organization, regardless of looks, money, personality etc. It's so charming and weird at the same time how some of the biggest frats/sororities have some of the nerdiest and most socially awkward people I've ever met. I kind of like it, especially since it's unique and the school is so big. That being said, A&M is always quietly looked down upon as having sororities with the least "attractive" girls, and having fraternities with the creepiest and smaller guys. There's been some bad incidents, and yeah, almost all the greek orgs here are toxic, but there's also some organizations that do great work for the community. There's just way too many greek organizations here, and there's too many people in them, so it's not special at A&M. Lots of them don't even have actual houses. Overall, greek life at A&M is pretty mid but it's good fun and most people make some decent connections. I definitely recommend checking it out and seeing the opportunities they have, but keep your expectations in check. Gig 'em!

Texas A&M University College Station - TAMU 3.0 Speaking mainly about frats here. Housing is below average as there's no frat row, and frats have a much smaller presence on campus in comparison to other schools in large part due to their negative reputation in the administraion's eyes (though this appears to be changing). Hazing can be pretty rough, as SAE made national headlines like a year ago for it. Still, due to the size of the student body, A&M greek life is very large numbers wise.Even though men's orgs are big, there's over 2,000 dudes in frats.

Texas A&M University College Station - TAMU 1.5 TAMU Greek life literally doesn’t compare to other Greek life schools in Texas at all. Like why is PKT a thing at UT, SMU, TTU, and TCU, but not at TAMU. Super weird that sororities like Zeta or AXO are considered to be really good ones at TAMU whenever they suck everywhere else in Texas. Do better TAMU “Greek life”. If you want an actual Greek life experience, I would go elsewhere for college tbh.

Texas A&M University College Station - TAMU 3.5 I think it's important to note the racist rhetoric in a lot of people's comments on this page. NPHC sororities and fraternities exist. Just because you haven't seen them at your latest date party doesn't mean they don't exist/do well on this campus. Some of these NPHC orgs have prided themselves on true community involvement and still know how to have fun. Check them out. Rush process is more detailed and selective, but worth it. It's a lifelong network of sisterhood and brotherhood.
