Being a part of AOII has truly been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. From day one, I felt like I had found a place where I could be 100% myself — surrounded by women who genuinely support, uplift, and love one another. Whether it’s needing someone for a late-night drive, a shoulder to lean on, or just someone to laugh with, I know I’ll always have a sister to count on. AOII has given me lifelong friends, unforgettable memories, and a sense of purpose — and I wouldn’t trade that for anything.

I met this AOII the other day and she was honestly the nicest person I’ve ever met at UAH. She complimented my outfit and we got to talking about school and classes, and I honestly just felt relieved to meet someone who was also overwhelmed by school but still found the time to be involved on our campus. The whole experience made my day ten times better.

These are some of these most sweetest girls I have ever met. I seriously don’t understand why no one would join them, yes they may not be the most aesthetically pleasing but they show them always having a good time and that they love each other. All chapters have their ups and downs but ultimately I think aopi is the best sorority on campus. These girls are seriously the most genuine people you will ever meet.

I get that recruitment is a huge deal, but the damage to our sisterhood feels like it's going to last way beyond bid day. There are so few of us left, and we’re all so overworked—barely sleeping, shelling out hundreds of dollars, and being pushed to make recruitment perfect that I’ve been told to straight-up lie to the PNM's faces. I’m having panic attacks now, and honestly, I’m just posting here because I don’t feel like I have anyone to talk to. Our leadership would probably accuse me of being disloyal if I spoke up, and the advisors are either totally MIA or even more intimidating. I joined to find a supportive community of girls, but now I just feel more isolated than ever.

NEW ON GREEKRANK

This chapter has a lot of issues. Joining was a huge mistake. It is a lot more expensive than presented. A lot more time consuming. It becomes difficult to earn a degree and keep up with all the meetings and required activities. If you drop, you will still owe money for a year. We spent thousands of dollars on this. It was the worst experience of college.

They are very inclusive and humble. The nicest and smartest girls among the sororities. They also involved a lot both on and off campus. They might not be the prettiest but all have good personalities that draw people in and brighten other’s day.

AOII is an amazing chapter and does have a lot of up and downs but so does EVERY chapter EVER in the history of Greek life. These girls are their most authentic selves and if you are going through recruitment this year I encourage you to keep an open mind and learn all about the houses. I also don’t recommend reading these Greek ranks because it could be anyone saying ANYTHING. AOII has saved me and helped me become a successful person and that wasn’t without hardships. I took leadership positions early and didn’t get to fully enjoy just being a sister. But without taking those leadership roles I wouldn’t have grown as much as I did. Balancing school and a sorority is very challenging but if you can learn proper time management anything is possible. These girls put their all into everything and it’s so admirable. Keep an open mind, and know it will be hard sometimes but will always be rewarding at the end.

Aoiis are nice but the majority of their chapter is very quiet and pretty antisocial so it’s hard to actually know them. honestly i wanted to cob aoii but i just felt so awkward talking to them and they are SOOOO expensive. like if i wanted to drop a bag on a sorority i would’ve gone to a bigger school

Got told about all of this and I had to hop on. I love the gaslighting in the paid positive response below. Imagine guilt tripping sisters and insisting that this is all the sister's fault. They ignored all of the illegal activity and bullying behind the scenes. I'm thinking about leaving soon too lol. There's a reason the turnover rate is so high. Being told to 'raise money' is fine but i wish we would disclose it during recruitment so members don't have to pay the bill themselves because no one donates to those things except parents... Also last semester a lot of us were only told to raise money one week before the deadline. In all ive made a few friends but I could have done that organically and skipped this whole mess..

I LOVE aoii, i’m so sad to see that other girls have not had a great experience. I have found a home in aoii and lifelong friends. with any sorority, you get what you put in. put in the effort and you will have a great time. I love aoii
