the only statement from theta nationals that's out rn is about CASA getting its federal funding cut, not that theta is ending their partnership. very tragic that funds going to children in foster care are being taken away, but it sounds like theta will still be able to fundraise for casa

theta isn’t dropping CASA, now more than ever they need funding! they made an official statement on their website saying that they will continue their partnership and commitment with CASA :)

There is no guarantee that you would get a bid specifically from Theta or any other sorority. So if you didn't get a bid from Theta you don't want to be in a sorority? Maybe you should definitely rethink rushing at all.

Nope, sororities are social organizations for women. Sororities offer friendship, social events, a support system, a home away from home, and a membership for life. Philanthropy is one of the things that sororities do but not their purpose or anything like a main focus.

Please don’t joint a sorority solely because of its philanthropy. If you like that philanthropy go volunteer there or find a way to contribute otherwise to them. Philanthropy is only a small part of joining a sorority. There is so much more to a sorority - sisterhood, social opportunities, leadership opportunities. You can still support CASA if you join a different sorority than Theta.

Not to mention you may have nothing in common with these girls. Dumb reason to want to be a Theta.

No it’s not a service organization. It’s a social club that has a component of philanthropy. There are much better organizations at ATM to join if you are looking for a pure service club.
