Is it hard to make friends as a sophomore
by: SophomoreI am an incoming sophomore and I’ve decided to go through recruitment. Im worried that it will be hard to find friends because all the girls my age have already found their group but the girls I’m rushing with aren’t my age. What are y’all’s thoughts?

if you aren't a naturally social and outgoing person, it might feel more exhausting but if you put in the effort, you'll find a group within any chapter you join. my advice: lower any expectations or skip recruitment and wait for open recruitment. as a sophomore, you will likely get cut hard during formal recruitment even if you think you have an "in." almost all houses (whether they admit it or not) participate in open recruitment. most houses who are doing it will reach out directly. if they reach out, it's likely (not guaranteed, but likely) they are interested so you can relax a bit. you can get on a list for open recruitment and you can save the sweaty disgusting time that is formal recruitment.

The sophomores in my pledge class have some of the best bonds!! I would say most are closer than the freshman and find their friends a lot quicker! I went through as a freshman but a ton of my friends went through sophomore year and it seems like cuts were ALOT less brutal! Good luck :)
