Recruitment Questions
by: HiCan someone tell me how does preffing work? Like let’s say you just finished round 1 and you put the house you want the least very last on the bottom to cut them, if I cut put the house very last and not want them back do I get them back if they want me back? Or is it a mutual selection process

Rush is only “mutual” when the PNM is invited back to more chapters than the next round has parties. Ie, if all the houses invited you back after Open House, then you would return to the ones you ranked highest for Philanthropy.
If 2 of your top houses released you, you would return to 2 houses that you “cut” (if they invited you back.) If fewer houses invite you back, you won’t have full invitations to the next round and you will go back to all houses that invited you, regardless of how you ranked them.
The only time a PNM’s choices are considered first is after Pref, the computers will take your first choice and try to match you to it several times before trying your other house(s).

You as a PNM do not cut houses unless by some miracle you have EVERY sorority wanting you (doesn’t really happen here). You will preference the houses you most want to go back to. The sororitys will then send list to Panhellenic of what PNMs they would like to invite back to the next round. If all the houses you preferences invite you back you will go to those houses. If some of the houses you preference do not invite you back but one of the sororitys you did not preference invited you back you will go to all of the party’s you have been invited to even if you did not preference that sorority. Hope this helps! (Recruitment is more complicated than this short description but its the basic gist). On preference night your rankings between the two houses you have left are more significant (this is where mutual selection comes in)
