KKG concern what happened???
by: concernedI am going through recruitment in the fall and I am a Kappa legacy...can someone please explain to me what happened and if KKG is in trouble or not? Will they be kicked off campus? Have events?

Some kappa sister invited some high school seniors to spend the weekend in college station and took the girls out to bars and frat parties. This is not only against Panhellenic rules but it is illegal as these high schoolers are not 21!!! Allegedly some hazing like activity’s happened during that weekend but I do not know the details of that. It has not been publicly confirmed as of yet if kappa will be on probation or able to recruit this fall. Some things to keep in mind is that this was not a chapter sponsored event and was organized by individual sisters of kappa. Personally I think the theme “Black out of Backout” is itself dangerous and could be considered hazing. If I was a PNM I would be concerned about potential hazing as a new member if I pledged kappa, but that’s just my personal opinion.

So you're telling me that one Kappa instigated this whole fiasco?? They should just kick that girl out.

it was a whole group of their new pc and seniors who put it on. they did it last year too - i know lots of girls who went soooo this isn't a new thing

Most likely they won’t have a pledge class in the fall, or if they do they will not be able to have any events for awhile.

When will their Nationals or the campus CPC make a decision? I would think there would be an investigation of some sort. It’s really awful not only for the Kappa women who had nothing to do with it but for the system as a whole because this type of thing is what makes people want to abolish Greek life.
