Every girl is an investment for the house. It’s not about age necessarily, just how long you’ll be a part of the chapter. A junior isn’t as good of an investment as a freshman, which means you may not have as many options if you decide to rush. I knew a girl who rushed as a junior who had connections with a lot of houses, but ended up with aoii and adpi as her two houses on pref. I think every house is worthwhile and I’m absolutely not saying anything bad about those houses, but they weren’t her first choice and she ended up dropping. I’d still definitely encourage you to rush because you may end up loving whatever chapter you end up at, but keep in mind that there’s definitely going to be some limitations for where you end up.

A&M has an upperclassman quota so it isn't freshman vs jr. It is Soph vs Jr, but the girls on the floor during recruitment really don't care. Every house I know took Jrs this last year. Now, all of them had a lot of friends in the house that were pulling for them. I do know one Jr transfer who became a Gamma Phi via COB.

I would honestly probably not do formal recruitment. You’re better off doing spring and trying to find a girl who can pull for you. All houses do spring rush some are just a bit more silent about it. If you’re graduating late too mention that because they want girls who will give them more money and more commitment usually.

Some will take Juniors depending on quota, but your options might be limited. Recruitment is also based on retention rate, as houses like to keep members for as long as possible. Therefore, they may prefer a sophomore over a junior. It will also help if you know some girls in the sorority you’re interested in, so they can pull for you, but don’t count on 100% on it. Best of luck!
