What are some chapters that give out snap bids during spring on the down low. I’ve heard about some chapters that have done that in the past and didn’t know if there were any chapters that are known for doing it low key?? If they have high drop rates/people graduate/whatever. This isn’t a hate post keep it positive plz

Hi there! I know most chapter met quota or went over. I know ADPI is, AOPI, DZ maybe because I remember they did them last year. Some other houses do as well but it just depends if they met quota! Good luck! If you have a friend in one I would ask them

Adpi might be. It was on their insta story. DZ met quota so doubtful they will. AOPi might.

COB doesn’t depend on quota, it depends on total. Any chapter below total can do COB, that’s why almost every chapter does on the DL in Spring to replace their December graduates

It really depends on the year between drop rates/ December graduates. Chapters that I know who have had low key spring bids in recent years include; axo, zeta, and theta. Chapters that typically always spring recruit include; adpi, aoii, and gphi. Whether a chapter participates in spring recruitment or not shouldn’t define them as being a good or bad chapter, sometimes numbers are just lower than nationals wants.

Most chapters will do COB in the spring to replace any December grads, but larger chapters will just ask girls they already know. It doesn’t depend on quota, only on if you’re meeting total.

The only time a snap bid can be given is if a chapter does not match to primary quota during formal rush, then they can snap bid during the hours between bid match and bid day to get up to quota.

You are asking about COB - continuous open bidding. That is for chapter who are below chapter total (a formula that is basically average or median chapter size). Basically the 6-7 smallest chapters will be eligible starting now and then again in the spring semester based on their #’s. If you are interested the best thing to do is to give your name and contAct info to the Greek Life office. They will share with eligible chapters.

Based on the last few years’ GPA reports, these are the chapters who took spring pledge classes via COB:

2019 - ADPi (19), AOPi (6), XO (4), AXO (4)
2018 - ADPi (21), KAT (16), GPB (10), DZ (8), AXO (4), DDD (3)
2017 - AOPi (37), GPB (23), ADPi (12), DZ (9), AXO (5)

Some of the chapters mentioned in comments above have not done Spring COB in recent years. And it is not true that all chapters give spring bids because of graduating seniors- the largest 6-7 chapters are not eligible to COB.

As of Spring 2019 GPA report (Most current posted online), the chapter sizes were:
1. DDD - 290
2. ZTA - 289
3. XO - 286
4. KAT - 285
5. DG - 281
6. KKG - 276
7. AXO - 275
8. PBP - 273
9. KD - 257
10. GPB - 232
11. DZ - 214
12. ADPi - 199
13. AOPi - 158

That should directionally tell the chapters who will be eligible for COB this year. \n\n\n\n\n

My chapter did 10 COBs in the spring. We had a lot of graduating seniors. I’ll tell you that there were roughly 75 women competing for those 10 spots. And we are not a “top” house by anyone’s “rank.”
