stop with the same questions...
by: CuseI'm not sure when this site became therapy for people unhappy with recruitment outcome. Let's just lay the key issues to rest here....1) If you didn't get a bid at all, the vast majority of us are sincerely sorry and encourage you to try again in the fall or next spring. There is WAY more to life at SU, so in the meantime check out clubs and activities. It's NOT the end of the world, even though it feels like it is right now. 2) If you dropped because you TRULY didn't feel that the house you got a bid to was for you (based on conversations, gut instinct, etc.), stop asking us what you should do and ask YOURSELF. There's nothing you can do for the next 8 or so months anyway. Then you can decide if houses doing fall rush appeal to you, or you want to try formal again as a sophomore. I rushed as a sophomore and DID JUST FINE, got my top house. I know I'm an "n of 1" but don't listen to people who say your odds are destroyed if you rush as a sophomore. That's just not true. 3) If you dropped due to peer pressure or insecurity that people won't think you're cool enough b/c you didn't get a "top house"...then step back and seriously reconsider what you even want to get out of Greek life. The harsh reality, as others said, if you didn't get asked to join a "top house" now, what's going to change next year...really? Of course every house has sisterhood....but those that are ranked "lower" are probably more accepting of who you are vs. what you look like.
