they filled like 2 buildings in terra before and now they are just rearranging and sub leasing to each other so they are mostly in 1 building and the rest in delts, they got the 90 girls they needed, many are having to break leases or sub lease or take out extra loans, but they are super excited and doing whatever it takes to get that house

DphiE is going to have their charter revoked. They've missed quota 2 semesters in a row and couldn't submit a bid on the house. They are too small compared to the other sororities here at IU.

I believe DPhiE got 21 as their final result. Still below quota. Can anyone confirm?

They got around 45 girls as their final numbers

Wasn't the quota around 50+ for the sororities? If so, then DPhiE still didn't make the NPC quota for recruitment.

If D phi E's national wants to keep a chapter here with 20 girls they can. Panhel cannot revoke their charter for numbers reasons which is what it sounds like you're implying.

You cannot discount that there are, and will most likely continue to be, IU women comfortable with the type of sorority experience Delta Phi Epsilon offers.

DPhiE's difficult task for the foreseeable future is to perform and recruit beyond their perceived campus status.

While DPhiE's reasons for coming to IU may not correspond with reasons some people wish to join a sorority, they have initiated women chosen by DPhiE standards and should be allowed to continue as a fraternal group as long as they are able to uphold their own standard of affiliation.

DPhiE is a worthy member of our NPC greek community and will, given time, grow into a more viable and visible IU organization.

If TPA got the house, I am happy for them although a bit saddened for both ASA and DPhiE, but especially DPhiE since they were the last of the unhoused to come on campus (ignoring SK, which is a different situation).

IMO, IU never should've sororities come on board without a plan to get housing. As far as I know, both DPhiE and ASA have secured housing on other campuses where it was a requirement. I think a mix of housed/unhoused sororities can work on a campus like Stanford, which it's half and half but not at IU where everyone's looking for the "typical" sorority experience.

I wish both ASA and DPhiE best of luck in the future. I know girls in both houses and they're the sweetest, kindest people that I know. I hope that somehow, on-campus housing can be found for both of them.

IU was bombarded for years with requests from complaining students, parents and alums to expand their sorority chapter numbers because too many disappointed women were unable to join a group, even when bed rush was eliminated and minimum quota installed.

ASA, TPA, SK and DPhiE looked into joining the IU sorority mix UNDERSTANDING FROM THE GET-GO there would be little to no housing opportunity quickly available, just a promise that many women on campus were very interested in joining sororities. These groups joined IU knowing sisterhood can mean much more than living in a house.

These four have all done as well as can be expected by offering values, teachings, standards and opportunities every sorority delivers without the benefit of housing. No woman who goes thru recruitment is forced to join an unhoused group, but many are joining and reaping the benefits.

It has been, and always should be, each sorority group's individual decision and responsibility to secure housing (or not) for themselves according to their abilities and needs. As far as I know IU does not require the newest 4 sororities to acquire housing on par with that of the other 19 houses.

There is no bidding process. No one is "winning". If one organization declines an offer it may be opened to a bidding process, so don't count anyone out yet.
