delts house
by: CuriousCan you all give me an update on what is going on with the Delts house?

If TPA didn't get the house they're going to look really dumb after whoever posted on Greekrank "we got the house." If they did get the house, congratulations.
This website should be abolished. Unfortunately I go here for information but this site only perpetuates the stereotype that unhoused greek organizations are worth less than greek ones. This website is highly inaccurate as well. All of these unhoused organizations want a house so badly because it would yield some form of approval and acknowledgement by the Greek community.
TPA really wants a house because it would mean other organizations (fraternities and sororities) would treat them seriously. The same applies for every unhoused organization. That's a reflection on IU greek life more than TPA.

I completely agree with this. It all stems from the "elitist" attitude from housed chapters. And instead of appreciating everyone and involving everyone in the greek community everyone loves to divide it up by "tiers" and 90% of the time anyone ranks a fraternities on here they only rank housed chapters. When in reality some of the unhoused chapters are quality. (ranking high in GPA, intramurals, etc.) I would just like to see the greek community be more inclusive.

As much as I really like TPA, and think they are the ones that most deserve that house, this might negatively impact Greek Life becoming more inclusive to unhoused chapters. This leaves only 2 unhoused sororities now to like 12 unhoused fraternities, and I don't see TPA pairing with unhoused frats any longer. Pilam, Skulls, and Pike will probably survive, but the rest will struggle to pair with anybody, even DPhiE and ASA.
Social scene is what makes Greek organizations. It affects everything from membership numbers to the amount of people that go to your philanthropy events. Let's be honest, when was the last time you saw a top tier sorority attend an unhoused fraternity's philanthropy event? It doesn't happen.
Elitism goes beyond just who attends your parties, it affects everything about a Greek organization.
TPA good luck with that beautiful house. Your organization has overall better quality young women than most upper mid and top sororities could dream of. Big things are yet to come for you.
To unhoused fraternities like Phi Tau, Delta Sig, Beta Sig, AKL, KDR I wish you good luck in the future. Times were tough as it was but now it's going to get tougher. Survive and get out there. Recruit like hell. Go to all the other Greek organizations philanthropy events and gain exposure.

I don't believe that. Only way I'll believe it is if an official greek organization posts about this.
