The first step in righting wrongs is to acknowledge them. Alpha Delta Pi acknowledges the unintended harm we have caused women who were invited to our preference ceremony and were not extended a bid into our chapter. We recognize your frustration and want to address rumors that have circulated. This year's recruitment was unprecedented. CSUF Panhellenic voted to utilize a COB (continuous open bidding) recruitment format that is normally utilized to add 10+ women to chapters in a casual setting rather than a structured primary recruitment format which is designed to add 40+ women to chapters, which is normally used in the fall semesters. A structured format encourages all women interested in joining a sorority on campus to partake in the process, giving them the opportunity to meet every chapter and equally dividing every PNM amongst all six chapters, instead of only allowing chapters to fill their vacant spots which was the case for fall 2020. During this COB process, Alpha Delta Pi met over 300 women who had signed up to participate via ADPI's recruitment interest survey. We then started offering invitation only events to get closer and closer to our allotted 46 new members. We recognize that while our intentions were to give all women a fair and equal opportunity during the recruitment process, inviting over 100 women to our preference ceremony has unintentionally caused harm within our community. For that we sincerely apologize. Preference round in a structured format allows PNMs to only visit 2 chapters. During this year's COB PNMs were able to visit up to 6 chapters. Our chapter, with the help of our international organization, chose to follow the data from the previous 3 recruitments as it relates to invitations to our invite only events. Over the last 3 years, we have invited roughly 100 women to our preference parties and about 70 women have accepted. We followed the same standards knowing women had the opportunity to visit more than the traditional 2 chapters. Without the help of a campus wide governing body to manage the PNM process, every chapter had no option but to guess how many PNMs would choose to go to more than one house. ADPI MOVING FORWARD- As we take accountability for our mistakes during the fall 2020 COB process, we will continue to reflect on our opportunities for growth in this space both as a chapter and a panhellenic community. We have met many amazing women who we continue to reach out to and build genuine friendships with. We pledge to work with and encourage CSUF Panhellenic to take a more active role in the recruitment process in the spring 2021 semester as the organizers and leaders of all 6 chapters on the CSUF campus. We wish everyone a successful and healthy semester. Sincerely, ADPI's Executive Board Note: The scoring on this comment does not reflect our sisterhood or organization rather they were a requirement to post on this platform and should be disregarded.

half of these comments are ppl saying adpi had too many women attend their preference round... y'all... during a regular in person recruitment every sorority prefs 100+ girls depending on Panhellenic numbers... it's literally the same. I went to a couple preferences and didn't find any of this shady?? maybe bc i went through recruitment last year in person.

the only reason why adpi preffed over a hundred girls is so they could get good reviews on here and have pnms speak highly of the house to there friends cause they all thought they got in. lol i hope everyone sees this. thats even more fake then axo or gphi.

someone from adpi said AND I QUOTE “people on here complain about how axo & gphi made girls feel excluded, yet when adpi tries to include all pnms to give everyone an equal chance then y'all get mad” HOLY SH|T did you guys not pref 100+ girls and only accept 40? that is not giving all pnms an equal chance, it’s letting too many girls go without bids because you’re insecure about your numbers.

someone said they preffed 100+ girls because they were insecure about their numbers and i feel like it should be emphasized here. you guys had all these pnms say you were top/leave great reviews when you guys were JUST considered mid (still are after that). please do better if you want to raise your ranks because that is not how you do it. too many girls ended with no bid this semester

We want sororities to be honest with their recruitment and make PNMs feel included. Yes, ADPi made PNMs feel included but they should have been honest with who they truly wanted at Preference night. It’s Preference night, not another informational zoom meeting. By Pref., the sorority should have an idea of who they potentially wanted. Inviting 100+ people just shows you did not really care about the process and were only hoping to meet your number. Like your a sorority that is kind of “popular” there was no need to do that, if anything Delta Zeta should have done that.

i think we can all agree they shouldn’t have preffed a 100 girls. because so many girls felt wanted, many spoke very highly of adpi like leaving good reviews on here when back in 2019 people rated them mid. nothing wrong with the house no hate but its like they didnt care how many girls would be left with no bid..

lol people on here complain about how axo & gphi made girls feel excluded, yet when adpi tries to include all pnms to give everyone an equal chance then y'all get mad about that too. you can't win lmaozjp

people felt excluded by gphi and axo because they made it obvious who they wanted the most and ignored others. we wouldn’t have cared if adpi already knew that we weren’t a good fit and cut us before pref. they led on 70 girls while other chapters preffed even less than that since they were honest with their pnms.

The thing is there is a middle. ADPi did a great job of making girls feel included but it was to the point where most PNM's wanted ADPi and ADPi hardly dropped anyone. If they had slowly dropped girls that didn't align that would be different because that's how the process works. AXO dropped girls without saying a word within the first weeks because we all know they did a look based recruitment. GPHI wasn't as intense but in the end same thing you know it was mainly look based on how much they would comment on the girls who they wanted and ignored everyone else which was just wrong. ADPi just strung over 100 girls along knowing they only are giving 40 bids and none of us knew that... we all felt like we had a chance. To put it into perspective my group of girls were 12 of us rushing ADPi, 10 of us went to pref, only one got in. Most of them didn't get bids because they put their all into APDi thinking they were special. Each recruitment round ADPi should have started dropping girls so by the time it reached Pref there wasn't so many, not hating at all ADPi is great IM SURE they made us feel great and I loved it and they didn't make us feel excluded but you can't say there's no winning when there is winning. I feel like every sororities had flaws during this process, some worse than others (cough cough AXO) and since Spring might also be virtual we can take this to see who is taking this kind of criticism as helpful instead of an attack to hopefully have a better proces

I completely agree they shouldn’t have gotten girls hopes up. During preference night you would assume that it was down to the last batch of girls and it’s unfortunate to hear that there were still 100+ girls. Adpi was really friendly during rush which was great but during preference they shouldn’t have made everyone feel wanted when they weren’t going to give them a bid. One girl told me “you would get along with (girls name)” and “you would be such a great fit like we actually picked who we wanted, had a whole chart” “you weren’t chosen at random you’re here cause we want you” thins like that get a pnms hopes of “I might get a bid” when in reality they were never going to. Many girls were left without bids, I am one of them and it annoyed me that they didn’t send out an email saying they were sorry until 2 days later when I was super anxious on bid day.

I liked how they gave each pnm a fair chance and made us all feel welcome at every meeting. They seem really well rounded as a whole. I just wish that they didn’t pref close to 120 girls if they knew they were only gonna take 40. I felt a little strung along tbh. But they’re nice girls and it’s definitely a top tier chapter.

ADPI did a good job during recruitment. Some of the girls were a little awkward in trying to make conversation. They’re making their way to top house.

100 girls invited to pref and 70 getting a bid means you have a 70% chance of getting a bid. 154 girls with 46 bids means they only had a 29% chance of getting a bid whether they accepted it or not. Simple math just shows adpi knew it was much harder to get a bid. If research and data is in play you should know adpi was a popular choice this semester. Also how about addressing the fact adpi went back online to INTENTIONALLY hide how many tickets were shown to pnms? The actions of the members of ADPI do reflect on the organization as a whole. They are the girls wearing your letters and representing themselves to society.
