do sororities haze?

Recently I’ve seen a picture of a panhellenic member partying with a girl I know online, whose not a sister yet. Is this normal? If I join a sorority, does everyone drink together? And do bad rituals? I would like to join but I’ve heard mixed things on what’s allowed and not allowed and I’m hesitant to be apart of a culture like that.
