So I've narrowed my choices down to sigma chi and kappa sig, which one is better? Don't try to persuade me to go elsewhere it's these two or nowhere. Can some give reasons why which is better?

I don't get why you narrowed it down to those two especially when you're asking which of the two is "better" but whatever. Go with what you feel after rush between the two or maybe even broaden your horizons

It depends but I'd say it might not be worth it. You could try to social affiliate with a fraternity and that way you wouldn't have to take orders from sophomores but could still go to social events
