what is the cost of joining a sorority

So i'm interested in joining a sorority next year as an incoming freshman, and i'm just looking at my options. i haven't even been accepted into this school yet, but i want to be absolutely sure that if i do rush a sorority at the university of illinois, i will stick with it. part of that is knowing the cost. do you think i can rush without my parents financial support? and can someone give me a yearly rough estimate of the cost?

its about 1100 your first semester and 700 every semester after that. It varies house to house but I would say this is the average

If you go through formal recruitment, you will get information from each sorority on how much it costs to live in the house and how much dues generally are each semester. I would say on this campus the prices for dues range from around $800- 2,000 depending on if the house is newer, etc etc

applying to go through recruitment costs $50, so not too much to find out if you would be happy with the costs for 4 years

some houses are way more expensive than others but i pay for all of my dues on my own by working during the school year and its completely manageable
