So what are the benefits of being recognized by IFC. Ato sees to be doing decently after being kicked out

That's because it is ato. It's strong nationally . Look at alpha chi rho. It's not recognized by the IFC either and is struggling to stay afloat

Something like $250-$500K spent by alums on the house last year, and about a 20-man Fall 2015 pledge class is not "struggling" for a mid-sized house. AXP is doing fine, and is one of the good middle houses.

ATO is doing fine, has a very strong, active and prestigious alumni base, and is one of the good large houses.

SAE was in the same boat until recently, remained one of the most prominent houses on campus, and are as strong as ever. Also doing fine.

Before you bash, consider this - if those 3 houses were gone, your house might be the next target.

Would definitely agree that both ATO and SAE have done well without being part of the IFC. Both fraternities are very strong Alumni and IHQ to support them. AXP is a very small National fraternity that really gets little or no support from their IHQ and their Alumni, which is why they continue to struggle.
