sophomore sorority rush

by: Considering

I'm a current freshman in CoB considering formal recruitment for fall 2016. I don't have any connections to any houses, and I couldn't care less about rankings/status. I'm looking for a chill house with nice girls that I'd want to spend a lot of my time with.
Knowing more about dues would be helpful as well. Do sororities usually have a significant amount of additional fees for things like events and apparel?

I went through recruitment as a sophomore with no connections to any houses and a similar attitude and I found a house that I absolutely love. As far as dues go, they vary from house to house and there are chapters that are significantly more expensive than others. You'll get a paper on chapter dues of the houses you get asked back to at first invite. I can't speak for all chapters but mine personally does not require you to pay for anything beyond your monthly dues and all apparel is completely optional. I pay for my sorority without financial assistance by having a part time job on campus and it's completely manageable.

It definitely varies from place to place. My sorority is more on the expensive end. There's the semester dues and then a lot of additional things time to time that cost money as well. I had to use money from my scholarship and support of my part time jobs to pay for it.
