how important are the "ranks" of each sorority/fraternity when rushing? like should that be a considered factor or no

No, not really. The higher ones are obviously better, but it won’t be worth it if you don’t like the brothers. Pledge where you like the brothers the most.

You can't rank brotherhood. Your first and most significant consideration must be how much you vibe with the brothers. After that you can think about rankings if you're torn between several frats
