psa to incoming pnms <3
by: TruthOk here’s the real tea for girls considering going through recruitment. Please read if you are. First off, if you’re on the fence about rushing, do it. It will completely change your college experience and you’ll make memories you can’t get anywhere else at any time if your life. A lot of the stuff on here is very negative comments and a lot of people bringing down greek orgs. This is a small group of people hiding behind a screen and doesn’t represent real greek life. When you’re actually in a sorority, as long as you are somewhere where you can really picture yourself giving with the girls, you will be happy. The “tiers” really don’t mean anything. If you’re in AGD but all your friends are in SDT, no one is going to hate on you for not going SDT. They’ll be happy you found your people. Rutgers Greek life really isn’t big enough for that kind of drama or cattiness. People from all different sororities are friends. I promise you DON’T need to be in zta or phi sig to be cool or to have a good time (not that there is anything wrong with going zta or phi sig) so don’t just drop all of recruitment if they drop you or you don’t see yourself there. Ppl will call this Panhel propaganda but it’s true coming from someone in a sorority.

equally as important - don’t get fooled by pan hell and get pressured into “trusting the process” and joining an organization you aren’t comfortable with
people forget pan hell’s objective is simply to get as many people to join greek life as possible, and to do that they unfortunately push people to just “trust the process” which is kind of a code word for just joining whatever org will take you if where you want to be doesn’t work out, or if you’re not really feeling greek life in general.
basically what their objective is converting as many PNMs as possible, not making sure you ACTUALLY end up in the right place. i guess as long as you end up SOMEWHERE, you’re paying dues. so then it’s ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is also why they discourage girls from suiciding and only picking one sorority in the end even if they have two choices when really if you see yourself only in that one then that’s what you should do.
