question about sk
by: BPSo I'm rushing next semester and went to a rush event and met most of the sororities (minus ZTA bc they wasn't there) and met the girls from SK and they seemed really sweet and I really liked them and am considering SK. The only problem is that I keep seeing people saying that they're not as relevant or won't be around for much longer. Why is that? Is it because they don't have a house? I'm kinda clueless about this and am just trying to get an honest perspective if I should seriously consider them or is it not worth it.

This past spring, older sisters who were about to graduate wanted to shut down the chapter because of how small it was. A lot of newer sisters, including the ones who were just initiated, were determined to fight to keep it open. The SK nationals also want to keep the chapter viable so if anything, the chapter will stay on campus but will be small. The only downside is that if they stay around, they might not be able to shake off the reputation they have right now. By the time recruitment comes around, definitely choose where you feel like home.

this chapter is not closing. they are not in any type of cycle.. they are just a smaller chapter and that’s all it boils down to. they had some negative seniors that graduated

Honestly, with the way sk’s advisors and panhel treats them we will be around for a decent amount of time. If this pledge class is a good size then honestly i wouldnt be worried about going sk. Go where you think you belong, i wouldnt worry about this yet, it probably wont be gone in the time youre on campus.
