Depends what you care about. If you don't care so much about resume building and future job networking then an unlettered house would be completely fine. Only reason letters matter is for official recognition which gives you the benefits of future job networking and resume building.

unlettered frats like sigma chi and phi delt aren't always bad moves. Sigma chi still has very good relations with all sororitys after there charges they got kicked off for were based on hitting a girl with a bottle. they are still very organized. Phi delt will die fast when they lose there house. Other top tiers like pike and tdx are next to be gone tdx is under ceise and deisist and pike still has the shooting held against them. as skull got a 2 year suspension this year also. kapp sig all they have a is a house and get freshman and theta chi doesn't have party often for risk of getting in trouble. honestly feel them all out but i wouldn't doubt a unletted frat being relevant and most frats in this school since they no longer have to follow the rules. so rush around open minded

are you a gdi? lettered houses have nothing to do with being officially recognized by the school, you do not need a house to be recognized
