Is it normal for current members to reach out to pnms before rush starts? If so, are your chances limited if no sorority has reached out to you?

It is normal until recruitment begins. it is completely fine for a sorority member to reach out to a PNM before recruitment officially begins, as long as the conversation is general and not chapter specific. Members can answer questions about Greek life, like or comment on social media, and even spend time together as long as they are not promoting their own chapter or offering gifts. Once the no contact period starts, all recruitment related communication must stop until Bid Day.

to answer your question, it completely doesn't matter. I know people who got into the house they wanted and didn't have anyone reach out at all.
