As someone who had a top tier as my no2 and kappa as my no1, it’s because most of the non “top tiers” seemed a little more genuine to me. You could tell they were putting in effort to know me, while the others I felt were just going through the motions and not anything personal. That’s my opinion, idk about other girls.

Even of Kappa did write this, good for them! Every chapter should think they have the hottest and best pledge class. I hope you both feel the same about your pledge classes, and reflect on why you are being so mean to them. Congrats, Kappa, on your successful recruitment!

As a new Pi Phi, I agree! I had an upper "middle tier" as my second and Pi Phi as my #1. Felt so much more comfortable at Pi Phi. Having real conversations came through with Zoom without the superficial distractions I was expecting.
