to the op:

girl, you are NEVER contractually locked into any membership. you can walk away at ANY time. No matter the chapter you aren’t ever obligated to stay a member. That’s just not at all how this works. there isn’t a contract defensible to lock you in as a member.

If you sent your email before your dues were due, you’re fine. You don’t need to them to respond if you sent it in writing. if you didn’t, and a bill was issued before your email, pay your bill for dues for that payment and move on with your life.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience with ds. you’re not the first and won’t be the last, but really, don’t drag bystanders into your chapter drama… move on.

ALL of the other chapters you mentioned are actually pretty great, and for any member or pnm, there are far more wonderful experiences in each house than not.

agree with the op that ranking isn’t relevant here, it’s making sure you join a chapter for sisterhood and authentic connection and everything good will follow and you’ll have a great experience.
