frats that drink in moderation
by: social drinkerInterested in rushing a frat in spring 2019. I definitely like the parties and the brotherhood and I like the occasional alcohol but I don't really like getting dead drunk in the middle of the night. Which mid-tier frats aren't too big on alcohol but on brotherhood and having fun or in other words, which frat is best for a social drinker.

How are they like in school and fun balance. I'd say I'm a work hard play hard guy, but the work comes before the play for a reason.

I can’t speak for all houses but for the most part once you’re a brother you have flexibility when it comes to how much you participate in social events. You’re at Berkeley for a reason and most Greeks here take academics seriously. If you’re really concerned about time commitment then you might want to pick a lower tier house cause they tend to be a bit more academically oriented, but that’s just my opinion. All the houses previously mentioned fit the bill, again. Maybe throw in ATO and TDX. Rush a buncha houses and definitely ask questions there. Go with what feels right

If you get through pledging you’ll find that brothers of most houses have pretty diverse drinking habits. All the houses you listed fit that bill I’d say. There will always be a minority who get wasted in pretty much every house but the majority are social drinkers
