Indiana State University - ISU Greek Life Reviews

While ISU doesn't have the best Greek Life ever, it is not too bad. Depending on where you rush it can be really easy to get in.

You can get into almost any greek group on campus as long as your personality fits.

The people in ISU’s greek life are good people (as a whole) but ISU doesn’t treat greek life very well. There have been a few hazing issues with fraternities in the last couple years, but the sororities are pretty serious about not hazing. I definitely think everyone should rush greek life at ISU in order to have the best college experience.

50% of the students at Indiana State are involved in Greek life. There are 9 sororities and about 10 frats...some frats have had hazing or partying issues but overall the Greek life here is extremely positive.

The school hates greek life but expects them to participate and help the school in whatever way they can use them. Indiana State itself is good at just using people for money anyways not surprised they use us for labor and to uphold their image of community service. The parties are pretty safe because they must be registered but this can result in the college allowing some frats to have parties and others to not based on their opinion on your fraternity. For the sororities they have a very structured rush and wonderful ladies come out and join. The frats however do it all on their own typically just posting a picture of a rush flyer. This means that not a lot of guys hear about certain frats and then a bunch of no bodies start their own instead of joining an established fraternity. This sky rocketed the amount of fraternities to now around 13 (could be more) where there are only 9 sororities. Many of these new frats only having around 17-25 members. Do yourself and everyone a favor rush to make greek life better.

Indiana state is the worst school to come to for Greek life. The FSL office is terrible and has no intentions of helping new organizations. If you’re thinking about ISU for Greek life I’d say go somewhere else.

For the sororities I would rate this school a solid B+ A- they are very structured in their process but almost all of sororities housing is on campus and all the sororities are put into one or two buildings. VERY UNSTRUCTURED FRATERNITY RUSHING! There are over double as many fraternities as there are sororities and most are very small and have never been heard of by the people that actually go to the school. It is hard to navigate which ones are chapters and which ones are just colonies too many freshmen guys get together and just start their own frat.
