i suicided my top choice since day 1 and was cut. it was between them and AOpi. just got the call that i did not receive a bid. i tried calling rho gam back to see if i have any other opportunities but she did not answer.
are there any opportunities for open bidding/fall rush?
i am hesitant to try for ZTA since im not really involved and basically got cut to lower tiers to begin with
#2 by: Dear Help,
I hate how much of an emphasis people place on tiers. In reality, tiers really only affect the fraternities you hang out with and what people say about your chapter on here. And since you're a girl, it's not hard to go to block or meet "top tier" guys in bars or in class anyway. I don't know why you didn't list AOPi, and it's okay if you didn't feel like that was your home, but I would really truly think about the reasons you decided to go greek. If it was just because you wanted to party with Phi Psi and Sigma Chi, well, shame on you. If you really want a supportive and loving sisterhood, get more involved, and have a social life, ZTA may be option, but believe me, colonization is A LOT of work and an emphasis will be placed on establishing a sisterhood, not partying. I would maybe try to get more involved, make your grades stellar, make some greek friends, and go through recruitment next year, keeping an open mind and heart and really try to get a connection with the girls you talk to. Because at the end of the day, every sorority takes cute instagrams and hangs out with frats, but who do you want with you in your pictures and at TGs? You want the girls that love you for who you are-no matter what tier.

I did the exact same thing with my current chapter when I rushed and didn't get a bid on bid day. Chapters who do not meet their quota (girls not accepting bids, not having enough new members, etc) will most likely have an open informal recruitment after ZTA finishes recruiting their new chapter. So, you can either go Zeta, or wait and see if chapters need more members. VP's of recruitment may reach out to you individually as you are still on the list as a girl who went through recruitment, or you can find out by word of mouth/friends/etc.
You can always give Zeta a chance to see if it's actually for you or not! My heart aches for you, I know exactly what it feels like to be in your shoes and I know on bid day my freshman year I felt totally lost and heartbroken. Just know that not everyone has a conventional Greek experience and if this is really what you're looking for, you will find your home!

Oh I'm sorry I loved them when going through as well but I only had one option at the end of recruitment so that's where I ended up because I maximized. But I ended up loving it. if you want to be in Greek life I recommend you try zeta at least or try informal which will probably be harder than zeta. Or try recruitment again as a sophomore
