legacy question

by: rushhh

I'm a legacy of a couple sororities and I was wondering if that helps you during rush a lot?

Essentially if you are a legacy of the sorority on campus, you will automatically get invited to the last night. However, being a legacy does not guarantee you will get a bid.

This information is innacurate, the comment below by Legacy is how legacies are actually placed during formal recruitment :)

Most sororities have a legacy policy you can google. Many have a policy that legacies are invited back to the first invitational round and if they are invited to the pref round they are placed on the first bid list. However you could be dropped between.

This is accurate. If the PNM matches the qualities of the sorority and has an RIF that details how they emulate that sorority's values, the legacy will stay between the first invitational round to preference night. Then, on preference night, they become first on the bid list as a privilege of being legacy status.
