Sigma Kappa - ΣΚ Sorority Ratings at NIU

I was a sigma kappa at niu before I transferred schools. The only reason why I transferred was because of the niu nursing program, not sigma kappa. Leaving niu and leaving this amazing group of girls was the hardest decision I had to make. I still talk to so many of them and visit all the time. They are nothing but sweet and fun to be around and they are so inviting to anyone no matter who you are. they made my experiences at niu so memorable and I am so grateful to be a part of something so much bigger than myself and all of this petty Greek nonsense. None of it is true and I can tell you that first hand. They are so well rounded and so much fun to hang out with. All of these rumors and allegations are just other girls twisting stories or completely making things up. Don't let all of this stupid stuff take away from what's really important. I love sigma kappa

These reviews mean nothing. Don't let the pettiness of other sorority girls trying to knock people down discourage you from going Greek and going through recruitment with an open mind! SKs are great in my opinion, and if you feel the same way during recruitment too then that's great trust your gut!! And if you don't that's okay too but just make sure it's for reasons that are actually valid and not from this dumb website. Recruitment is about you, not the drama between houses. Enjoy it!

My roommate joined and eventually dropped after 2 semesters because of how they treated her.

I met some of them at the greek bbq with my roommate and they are all really pretty and really nice! I'm excited to get to know more about them during recruitment this weekend.

Sig Kap isn't top tier, but they are a decent house. The thing that screws up their rep are the girls who go out of their way to hurt other girls and houses. I've met a lot of their sisters and some are genuine, but some purposely go out of their way to sabotage people,maybe talk to those girls because they are screwing you in the process. Two girls in particular act insanely physco. but hey, the choice is yours.

This is a good sorority on campus. They are definitely "cliquey" but so is every sorority. There are a lot very sweet, genuine and down to earth girls in there but there are also some girls who aren't the best people. But no sorority house on campus has "the best sisterhood" or "greatest group of girls." In my humble opinion and all that taken into consideration this is a top sorority on campus. They know how to have a good time, have beautiful girls and are super involved on and off campus. Not to mention some of the smartest girls I've talked to on campus come from Sigma Kappa. Just remember if you are trying to join a sorority that no sorority is perfect, but Sigma Kappa would be my #1 choice.

joined as a freshman and regretted it up until i dropped. i cried all the time because the older girls were so mean. now try saying hi to me in front of my boyfriend and his friends to make themselves look good. they only care about their appearance. THE WORST sisterhood. they made me regret joining greek life all together
