For spring rush you usually have to know someone in the house to get a bid.

Also not just knowing them, but making sure they like you.

If one girl doesn’t like you and you know your chances are slim save yourself the embarrassment and shoot for another house

Houses will be picky knowing someone doesn’t mean you get in

What do you do if you know a girl in a chapter? Do you have to text them and ask or something?

I would contact them. Most chapters have a referral form so they can fill one out for you and you will be invited for an event in they recommend you. Or you can go to the interest meeting and see if you get an invite that way

When contacting someone in a sorority, I would just say you have a general interest in rushing and stay away from right out stating you want a bid in their house.

Don’t do it, wait until fall rush. You’ll have more options and will be more likely to get into a house you want/are actually supposed to be in. I went through spring rush and I 1000% believe that if I did fall I would’ve rushed a different house. Love my sisters I just feel like I missed out on a chance to find a more fitting house.

I don’t understand the dirty rushing part. Why would I not tell a woman that I’m interested in rushing her house? Why would she not want to hear from someone who likes her house. Something doesn’t sound right to me. Thanks.

I think what they mean is making sure that you get a bid properly and by meeting other sisters during the recruitment process, and not being promised or given a bid before the actual period begins
