rushing for 3rd time

by: drop PNM

Is it even worth trying to rush again next year, it would be my 3rd time rushing. I love the Panhellenic community and really want to be apart of it.

What is the problem? Do you get dropped completely every single time? Do you have unrealistic expectations? Tell us more.

If you really wanna try Greek life then I think you should try it again!

You love certain orgs in the Greek system, just not the 2 that invited you back. What makes you think that you might be successful the 3rd time around if your reality did not match your aspirations the first two times? What would you bring to the table at try #3 that hasn't caught their eyes before now?If you truly want to be a member of the Greek community here, you'd better reconcile yourself that your best bet for Greek membership will probably be the same two chapters that you just rejected.

So what 2 sororities did you have left vs where did you see yourself? I think you should have given one of them a chance!

Personally I don't think rushing as a junior is worth it unless you haven't rushed previously and really wanted to be a part of it, but even then it's not really enough time.

Sucks about the first time. This time though I would seriously consider those two houses. You can always accept the bid and drop before initiation if you still don't feel a connection. It's not what you want to hear but it's probably the best course for you. Those girls felt you would work in their house.

All chapters at FSU are amazing compared to other schools , you need to give them a try- don't get hung up in the whole status thing

What about a junior rushing? Do you have a chance or no

re-rushing often will not yield a better result unless you make changes to yourself, be them physical like getting into shape or learning how to do your hair, or learning how to hold better conversations.

Personally I don't think being a pledge as a junior would be that much fun. If I were you I would focus on COB or spring recruitment.

By the time you are a junior, your priorities are changing and forming a whole new set of social bonds with strangers may not be as high on your list. Likely you will be thinking of your major and more career-oriented stuff.

Okay so what is COB, and who does it?

Continuous open bidding, and it's a really informal way for chapters to pick up new members outside of formal recruitment periods. Basically you meet sisters from a house and they hang out with you and if they like you and are doing COB they may quietly extend you a bid. Even top houses do it but nobody goes around talking about it.

That sounds like a plan!

How do I find out about COB and what houses do it? I'm very interested in ADPi but I don't think they do Spring Rush
