How long will Kds be without a house
projects like that usually take 2 school years.
where are the girls going to eat and live
are the girls who pledge this fall going to get to have meals in a sorority house

Neither house will be ready for occupancy by Fall 2026. Even with a majorly aggressive construction timeline, there’s no way possible.

They’ll live on campus as freshmen, sorority dorm as sophomore, and I guess off campus for the upperclassmen years. I don’t believe the new members coming through in August will really be affected at all because the house will be done once they are juniors and seniors.

Construction projects of this magnitude typically take a MINIMUM of 18 mths, more likely 2 years.
They’ve published a 2026 “completion” date - but that is so they don’t lose girls during rush. No way they’ll have girls living in the house by Fall 2026. And even if the house is ready by Spring 2027, who can get out of a lease or dorm contract to go live there?
So honestly it’ll be Fall 2027 before KD can occupy their rooms.
And they’ll do rush out of the SAE house.

Not having a house will definitely hurt KD during recruitment. PNMs want to hang out at their house with other members. It's a different type of bond they cannot get compared to the other chapters that have a full and completed house.

No, that money could not be used for philanthropy, or for anything else, only for the house. Every sorority has a house corporation that runs and maintains the chapter house, handles renovations and improvements, and does new construction. Donations and loans specifically for the house go through the house corporation and can't go toward anything else. Philanthropy is a separate entity in sorority fundraising. Every sorority runs like this.
