no matter who you PERSONALLY like or don't, the Top 4 have always the Top 4 and that won't change just because you write on some random message board. XO, DG, KD, and PM have always been - and still are the Top 4. Now, Greek Life at MSU has improved overall a whole lot in the last few years - so even the groups who are not included in the traditional Top 4 are still good, and have lots of sweet girls who chose to be there. But, fact remains that most girls come into rush wanting one of the Top 4...and furthermore, the opinions of PNMs during recruitment show that (when given a choice) almost all PNMs would keep a XO, KD, DG, PM over one of the other groups. that's just the way it is...whether you choose to acknowledge it or not. you may say all kinds of things about 'likeability' or 'popularity on campus' - but all know that the only time popularity really counts is during rush. and, during rush, it's Top 4. Period. End of story.

Um, no. Campus opinions are subjective at best. The only way to really 'measure' what the "campus" thinks of any certain sorority/fraternity is to monitor how the groups do in relation to campus elections. If a group is not well-liked, they won't get votes. No one has to vote, and every student as free will. So, the groups who are liked the most get senators, spots on homecoming court, and SGA officers. THAT is the true test of "campus opinion" - since all those votes are private.

absolutely LAUGHABLE. Not a single person can ever think Zeta is the lowest house anymore. They the most improved BY FAR. A colonizing house above Zeta?? No. AND a colonizing house the same level as DG?! Y'all need to quit rating on how you feel about votes for HC. DG is still a really good sorority. Same level as Phi Mu. And Zeta is same as DDD.

No one wanted to rush ZTA. And THAT is a fact @That is.

Whoever posted what you responded to posted that DG isn't as well liked as others, then included Phi Mu with them. I highly doubt a DG posted that their own sorority isn't well liked.

Repeat after me: there is a TOP 4. The Top 4 is XO, KD, Phi Mu, and DG. Period.

Awww, bless your heart, you must be absolutely exhausted from trying to defend your position in an imaginary "TOP 4"! From my perspective in what many people consider a "Top 2" (again, completely subjective!), I can assure you that we're not threatened because we love our sorority and welcome friendly competition from EVERY group. We really don't care how people "rank" us from the outside looking in. And, by the way, we consider the competition every bit as strong - if not stronger - from ZTA and DDD this year!

Top 4 have always been top 4. Within that, it's very subjective as to which ones are tip-top groups...every rushee sees it differently based on the girls in the house they got to talk to during rush. Not every girl talked to the "top girls" in houses 1 & 2, but might've talked to the best girls in houses 3 & 4, so as far as they are concerned, 3 & 4 are the best....while someone else might've had the exact opposite experience. VERY SUBJECTIVE. But, regardless, every guy knows who the Top 4 are. Ask any of them. The Top 4 are the Top 4. No debate. There's Top 4 and then the Next 4. (no "bottom" because they're all great) But, everyone knows that rushees come in wanting a Top 4. Period.

There's not a top 4 , there's a top 2 and a middle 4. And all the posts that I'm certain will follow - the ones where you laugh, say it's ridiculous, pretend to be someone you're not as you point out subjective reasons one or the other group should be higher - only make you sound more desperate. Just stop, enjoy your sisters, compete fairly and work in an honest way to make your chapter the best it can be.

A top 4 and an other 4 (though all strong groups) is simply semantics. Chi O and KD stand out above Phi Mu and DG. The other 4 can also be divided because DDD and ZTA are stronger than Pi Phi and ADPi. So actually it goes back to a Top 2 - Chi O/KD, then Phi Mu/DG, next DDD/ZTA and Pi Phi/ADPi. Those claiming a top 4 that are equal must be looking at 1 or 2 years. Change like that takes YEARS. People should also remember that simply because everyone from your hometown pledges the same sorority that does not make it the best overall. It may be viewed as the "best" by those in your town but NOT in the hundreds of other towns represented in the MSU Greek system.

I agree with Ok. ChiO and KD stand out above the other groups as consistently strong over many years. For almost everyone, DG/Phi Mu fall below them. And the truth is, DG/Phi Mu are not well liked groups by a lot of people, so that makes the line between them and ZTA/DDD much more blurry. Many people "LIKE" ZTA/DDD better than DG/Phi Mu. Does that make them stronger groups? No, but they have definitely improved in all areas and the perception is that these 4 groups have moved much closer together. While, I do think the post by "Just Stop..." was a little rude, I understand their point.
