Informal recruitment is a great chance to get to know different sororities :) Its also great because you can pick and choose which events you want to go to, as opposed to fall recruitment. If a sorority gives you a bid and your GPA is low, but your membership will be delayed so you can bring your GPA up. That means that you will be initiated in the 2017 fall class rather than the current spring class- does this help? :)
