Sororities here

So if you’re rushing in the fall, take mind of these things.
What frat guys think is top tier is different from what everyone else thinks is top tier.
The “popular” party girls from high school that frat guys love will go DDD, GPhi, APhi or DG. Not the most involved on campus, but good af and are a lot of fun. They are what you’ll see on a myhouse instagram post.
PiPhi and Theta are the book nerd houses. They have the best sisterhoods and are consistently in the top 5 for homecoming. These people rock.
Adpi and ChiO are somewhere in the middle between the two if you want that sweet spot. ChiO is more granola, if you will, and adpi is very bible thumping.
KKG is where the goody girls go.
AchiO is very earthy. Such sweethearts.
Zeta and KD are ones I can’t quite figure out. They’re not the most selective but also not leftover houses either. KD really pushed it this year with recruitment.
SK and Phi Mu are the leftover houses. Still, they both have a lot to offer. Frat guys will crap on them, which is sad because they really don’t deserve the hate.

The OP clearly doesn't go to Mizzou. No one thinks PiPhi is just a nerd house. They are the extremely well-rounded and selective (and the most difficult house to get in to). No one thinks ADPis are Bible thumpers. They excel in just about every area and are a great sisterhood. No one thinks APhi is a good house -- their retention is awful. AXO doesn't need your condescension, sweetheart. They are doing just fine. How about this: go through recruitment and see for yourself. And don't rely on people like Whatever to do your thinking for you.

Lets talk about Greek life in general, for anyone wanting to rush this fall.
For girls, you will be asked to showcase yourself for only a few minutes multiple times a day to many girls you don't know. To say this is a horrible way for a house to select its members and for freshman to make a supposedly four year commitment (more on that in just a bit) is obvious. Guys have a different process where they have longer amounts of time to get to know potential members and while mistakes are still made, taking an entire summer to get to know someone and then asking that person to join increases the chance that both house and potential new member are on the same page.
Once you are accepted by a fraternity or sorority your freshman year will be spent mostly pomping, cleaning up, giving blood, and begging family to give money to the house philanthropy. If you are into skit during homecoming or greekweek you get to put on makeup and dance around in costumes for a few weeks.
Sophomore year most houses require members to live in house. Most of this time is spent complaining how loud and cramped it is along with lack of privacy.
Remember the supposed four year commitment mentioned up above? Junior year most members get their own apartment to have their own bedroom and bathroom at equal or many times significantly less cost than the dues they pay for living in a fraternity/sorority house. Most juniors and seniors are long gone from the chapter house. Greek life is 2 years mostly, maybe some will involve themselves for year 3, but only the ambitious ones that want an executive position to any list of accomplishments when starting their job search.
That's the reality of Greek life now on campus. Freshman year you do things the sophomores don't want to do, sophomore year you spend time in house waiting to get your own place, junior and senior years your gone like you were never affiliated in the first place.
One other note, please don't think you need to be greek as a female to have a social life. Parties on or off campus need girls, and nobody cares if those girls are greek or independent.
Go into freshman year excited for the hew opportunities you have in front of you, don't let any particular house make you feel good or bad about yourselves. College life, not necessarily greek life, is awesome.

What you are getting wrong is EVERYTHING YOU SAID.
Every sorority spends the summer poring over every rush form, resume, video, transcript, social media account and recommendation for every single pnm. And when the pnm's step in the door of every sorority house from the very first time, the members will recognize her on sight and know her name and several things about her and have her paired up with members she has something in common with to make the conversations go as well as possible. Each sorority recruitment round is structured to make sure as many members and pnm's meet each other as possible and have longer conversations at each successive round. There is a 94% bid rate. Frats don't come close to doing any of that preparation or attention to detail for every single pnm or get that many new members.
Sorority chapter membership averages 207, fraternity average is 75. Sorority Average GPA is 3.5, frat is 3.2. 14 sororities house over 1100 women, 28 frats house 970.
The success of the sorority membership selection process is obvious, resulting in chapters that are thriving and have the highest quality members.
There is NOTHING like sorority membership in the support system you have from your sisters, the home away from home, the advantage of being in a peer group that will encourage you to be your very best, the chance to get to know so many other people, the opportunities for leadership and joining other campus orgs and experiences beyond college life, the sisterhood that will lift you up when you need it, and the friendship bonds you form with your close group that you love and will have all your life. You will NEVER get the chance for sorority membership again and there is nothing else in life like it. This is your time and you won't get these four years back, don't miss your chance.
