what is the best sorority and worst sorority

The physical house has nothing to do with how good a sisterhood is or how popular they are on campus. And honestly, a lot of people think the PM house is tacky. It’s very nouveau riche, you have to admit that. Kappa’s house looks way classier than Phi Mu’s and it really shows with them being neighbors.
I feel like Phi Mu’s prime was probably in the 90s and early 2000s when the whole “mean girl” thing and “excess” were popular. PNMs now are looking for something authentic and not fake, both in the physical house and in the sisterhood. Phi Mu just doesn’t have that.

I think the Phi Mu house is actually a turnoff to some girls. Most of the other houses have a “Southern Living” feel to them. They actually feel like a home and you would be comfortable to just hang out there and relax. The PM house looks like a big white box on the outside and doesn’t feel homey on the inside. Like I could never just go there in my pajamas and relax.

I hate KD as much as the rest of you, but I’d take a KD bid over one from Phi Mu any day.

I do think Zeta is controversial and it really depends on the pnm. If we’re being honest though, a lot more pnms go into rush wanting Zeta over Pi Phi because of their status around campus. Zeta cuts a lot more pnms first round (probably because of the dirty rushing and they mostly already know at least a few girls that they want/they’re getting. I knew pnms last year who went into rush already knowing they were going to be a Zeta...), while Pi Phi has to find their PC during rush. I feel like the overall general consensus is that Zeta competes more with old row for pnms (I know my house does) than Pi Phi does.

I don’t think zeta competes with old row for pnms at all. They are looking for a COMPLETELY different girl than axo or alpha gam for example. They might compete with phi mu just because those are both considered “looks” houses, but tbh zetas and phi mu’s are still very different kinds of girls

Have you personally met every single Zeta and Phi Mu on campus or something....? How do you know this and what are you basing it off of? Are you saying that there’s not a single Zeta that had Zeta and another old row house going into pref? 😂 Obviously that would be a false statement. Everyone on this site basically promotes the stereotypes of sororities (Zeta, Phi Mu, Alpha Phi, AXO, Alpha Gam) when in reality there’s a mix of girls in every house

^ Omg this. So true. I read the stereotypes on this website and then meet actives in the house in person and most of the time I say to myself “this girl doesn’t fit her house’s stereotype at all” hahahaha
Do ALL Alpha Chis and Alpha Gams like to party? No. But are there some who are crazy into partying and like to have a good time? Yes. Does every single girl in these houses have amazing grades? Most likely not. There has to be at least a few who don’t.
Are there some Zetas that have a fake tan and blonde hair? Absolutely. But is their whole house like this? Absolutely not. Do they all have great grades? No. But are there girls with 4.0s in Zeta? Yes.
(Used these houses as examples because I feel like they are the most stereotyped in one way or another). This is why it’s so important to go into rush open-minded and talk to the actives in the houses before making a decision. Rush will open a lot of pnms’ minds to what the houses are actually like.

Best of old row: tied - AXO, AGD, XO, and KKG - truly can't pick one - all good grades, involvement, sisterhood, you'd be lucky to get in any one of them
Worst of old row: KD
Best of new row: Pi Phi
Worst of new row: Theta (lots of potential, wish they'd use it)

most of the girls that made presidents list were freshman taking the easiest classes possible (CS102, MUS121, EN101 etc) so I don’t think that’s very impressive
