bid day

The mom called the house and told them. So whether it was a real snafu or she didn't make the cut. Is a good question. Either way. To put this on the Greek system. And cause other pnms to question their bids. Is a cheesy move on someone's part.
Local DDD alums need to step-up and protect their chapter.

But that doesn't make sense. How would the mom know to call them? The girl hadn't got her bid yet so she wouldn't know she wasn't on the list for Tri Delt.

I was a legacy for a sorority here at usc, and live across the country. my sorority contacted my mom before I knew I got my bid and asked if she wanted to fly down since she was always involved as an alumni...I'm sure they noticed they told a mom to fly to SC and the girl was not on the list....and yes sometimes they dont pick their legacy house but moms are allowed to come to pref round to pref their daughters so clearly if the mom flew all the way to pref/bid day the daughter obviously knew she was going to be in that sorority.

Shady, shady, shady! Taints the whole system! Tri Delt is fixed and they rig the system. Legacy or not, it should still be a surprise ...not all legacies are a guarantee. Right?!?! They can be dropped right?!?! She must have suicided to have KNOWN. I HOPE FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE SYSTEM THAT GREEK LIFE AND PANHELLENIC REVIEW WHAT HAPPENED!
ALSO, Is it true that they already initiated their pledges because they are going to be on social probation this year/semester so they made sure they got them. Tri Delt is a shame to the whole system this year! Way to go ! Such a disgrace to the process!

Even if they called the mom and said hey your daughter is not going to be a Tri Delt they didn't know if the daughter put them second or not. She could have dropped them and picked another house! Also, not every sorority allows moms to come pref their daughter. In fact there are very few that do! The daughter was supposed to have no idea that her bid was messed up and I'm sure she was contacted to ask if she for sure put Tri Delt first on her list because she is the only one who would know that, therefore, letting them know that the bids were wrong.

the mom, a very involved alumni nationally, contacted the chapter through their national rep to coordinate flying down for bid day because she wanted to see her daughter join tri-delt. when the chapeter got their list the pnm wasn't on it. it could be a myriad of reasons why but tri-delt contacted pan-hel and pan-hel contacted the pnm and got it sorted it out and now she's a tri-delt.
the only shady thing tri-delt was bring beer to the Coliseum.

Y'all can pretend that you don't do anything fishy with the whole bid process. Maybe most of the sisters don't even know as they are not privy to those computers in your little room where you rank all your prospective PNMs at the house but I know what y'all do. Pathetic...
Sit on your pedestal and keep pretending that it is a fair process.

Nobody ever actually considered the fact that maybe the girl didn't want Tri Delt and maybe she didn't put them first. So who contacted the girl to check on that little fact? That's right, Tri Delt. Because there's no point in contacting SoCo if they are going to say "oh well she picked another house" without checking first. Plus the girl told everyone they called her so that seals the deal right there.

Nope. The mom knew. She KNEW her daughter ranked DDD first. Then she called national-local alums. So when the daughter wasn't on the list people started scrambling. That's how it works.
Putting blame on Greek bid system WAS shady. It caused pnms at OTHER sororities to question their bids. Someone should be taken to the woodshed...

Even if this instance hadn't happened everyone knows Tri Delt dirty rushes. I had a girl in the sorority call me when I dropped them to ask me why (after she had told me she wanted me as her little and couldn't wait for me to run to her on bid day). That's how they get their members and it's the only reason girls get upset when Tri Delt drops them, because they had been promised that they would be there.

There is also another sorority (no it isn't KD but for some reason I picture people will think it is them) that says some of their members have pictures of bouquets of flowers tri-delta sent them the summer before they rushed. That's dirty rushing. Or alleged dirty rushing... I haven't seen said pictures.
