This is bs. Those “top” sororities choose based on connections. Many in state or same HS connections. There is not a lot of “old money” at Georgia. We are 84% in state many of us go here almost free. Most families that are “old money” are sending their kids to tech or Emory in state. Out of state kids at Georgia they have $$

Emory is liberal arts so no it’s not just medical. People attend for business pre law etc. my brother is at GT he is a computer science and statistics major. People at these schools are usually very wealthy or crazy smart. That’s not to say uga has no “wealthy” students. It’s just that the majority of them are out of state

Depends on what is meant by “old money” I suppose but just because in state tuition is low don’t assume there’s not a ton of money flowing through the campus. Almost every powerful family with Georgia roots has UGA ties. Tech is an engineering school. Emory is healthcare centered and known to be very liberal. Georgia isn’t some small backwater it’s the 10th most populous state and UGA is the heartbeat of its University system. This post is uninformed at best. Not all sorority girls come from wealth but you can bet most from wealth… and there are many… are in sorority life.
