what is it with gdis?

I've seen on this website so many times people bashing on GDIs like they are beneath greek students in some way. As a greek student who still has many GDI friends I don't understand this. Most GDIs are just as cool and many are generally smarter and more involved on campus that most of the greek students I know. I just don't get the hate and it makes us look tacky. Someone please explain.
