I do not know who Chi O thinks they are but songfest this year has been absurd. My chapter has already voted, and we will not be participating next year and I know a lot of other houses aren't either. Basing scores of a PERFORMANCE on t-shirt sales, social media likes and crowd participation is ridiculous- it doesn't matter how well you perform, only how much of chi o's dirty work you do for them.I'm tired of doing your philanthropy work for you. If you want to publicize your event, share your own photo. WAIT... no, don't share it, because you changed the rules of the competition to only include likes after each house had already shared your photo THOUSANDS of times. If you want to change the rules, make a mental note and do it next year but not the day before the competition ends. Then you make us sell and wear tshirts with YOUR letters on it and if we don't sell enough there is literally no way we will place, regardless of how our performance is. Do you not take any pride in wearing your letters? Then, we get scored on "audience participation" aka chapter ticket sales, because you can't sell enough tickets on your own and need us to do it for you, so we all have to buy your stupid TWENTY DOLLAR TICKETS. And, your "Do Good" slogan is a Delta Gamma NATIONAL slogan! Can you seriously not think of ANYTHING else?
As if flat out lying and oral bidding during recruitment hasn't ruined your chapter's reputation enough, this is the nail in the coffin for your philanthropy event.

Don't buy the useless shirts where a lot of the money goes to a vendor. Don't spend your valuable time on the phone pushing for likes. If people wish to see the show they will.
Vote in your own chapter to support where you can -- like the actual song fest.

exactly why this whole post is stupid. salty people who didn't get bids or didn't win songfest. these are not people out there trying to hurt others, they're just trying to raise money for their philanthropy. everyone should be grateful that their philanthropies also benefit from this event instead of saying how much the girls who spent countless hours taking on this huge project suck. shame on all of you. we loved participating in songfest. im sure if you had won you wouldve looked on this totally differently.

It's against panhellenic rules to promise bids, so calling someone salty for being bitter about how Chi O breaks the rules is a bit much. If Chi O just played fair I don't think anyone would say anything against them.

Chi O has been told to be extra careful not to say anything that can be taken as an oral bid bc the girls are aware that they have a rep for doing that even though it is NOT true and do not want there to be a chance of anyone saying they were dirty rushed. It's like Tri Delt and the staircase. taking everything written on here as absolute truth is idiotic. for all you know the person saying they got an oral bid could be a guy or a 40 year old alum of another sorority.

hey there!!! the entire point of songfest is to raise money for your philanthropy. the winner gets all the funds towards THEIR organization. Chi o is not profiting from this other than a small portion of the money raised by OUR chapter to help children with cancer to possibly make the last wish of their life come true (make a wish foundation).
as a chi o, I have never even heard any girl or exec member on the songfest team say the words "do good". but i am sorry, DG, that we have hurt you. it is funny how you say you're not participating next year... this event raised thousands of dollars for Theta's philanthropy this year and could possibly be given to your chapter next year. if you don't like the tshirts with our letters, don't wear it. if you don't want to sell tickets to our event, don't sell them. if you don't want to share a Facebook photo, don't share it.
But please know, being in a sorority is about helping the community and organizations and making sisterhood and philanthropy a main priority. Value these things more than your "national slogan" which (btw) is said millions of times a day by simple local and national organizations that need volunteer help.
no one told u to try and win songfest but chi omega honestly just wants the best for every chapter at a&m and wants to see all the philanthropies here thrive.

If you want the best, then SIMPLIFY. No one should have to wear a shirt with Chi O on it with the amount of work each chapter puts into Songfest. Personally, I think Kappa has the right idea....participate, but don't buy t-shirts, spend months on a performance, and bugging people to get facebook likes. It's not just DG who is offended by the way Songfest is organized, it's MOST panhellenic groups at TAMU

CPC would never give social probation for that. They just fine them, which alum are happily standing by waiting to write checks.
