I do not know who Chi O thinks they are but songfest this year has been absurd. My chapter has already voted, and we will not be participating next year and I know a lot of other houses aren't either. Basing scores of a PERFORMANCE on t-shirt sales, social media likes and crowd participation is ridiculous- it doesn't matter how well you perform, only how much of chi o's dirty work you do for them.I'm tired of doing your philanthropy work for you. If you want to publicize your event, share your own photo. WAIT... no, don't share it, because you changed the rules of the competition to only include likes after each house had already shared your photo THOUSANDS of times. If you want to change the rules, make a mental note and do it next year but not the day before the competition ends. Then you make us sell and wear tshirts with YOUR letters on it and if we don't sell enough there is literally no way we will place, regardless of how our performance is. Do you not take any pride in wearing your letters? Then, we get scored on "audience participation" aka chapter ticket sales, because you can't sell enough tickets on your own and need us to do it for you, so we all have to buy your stupid TWENTY DOLLAR TICKETS. And, your "Do Good" slogan is a Delta Gamma NATIONAL slogan! Can you seriously not think of ANYTHING else?
As if flat out lying and oral bidding during recruitment hasn't ruined your chapter's reputation enough, this is the nail in the coffin for your philanthropy event.

I am disappointed in the lack of integrity Chi O has had these last few years. You are lazy, manipulative cheaters and your superiority complex has lost you the respect of every chapter who has previously participated in your philanthropy event. This is a SHAME too, because I really do love performing for a good cause but not at the risk of being manipulated and lied to. The politics and drama involved in everything Chi O does has got to tear down the moral and sisterhood of your chapter. I don't know how you can tell a PNM that "God told you she belongs there" and then cut her the next day, but you are burning bridges very quickly. OVER YOU SO OVER YOU.

I totally agree. I hate how my chapter continues to do it every year simply for "prestige" reasons. I always wondered why DG let them get away with the "do good" slogan. Honestly I'd prefer we participate in competitions for neutral organizations like how we do Stompfest or Paddy Murphy.

Will you please get over yourself. Your ego has blinded you. How do you not realize that the point of songfest isn't the competition? Are you serious??? The point is to raise money for charity. Songfest succeeds in doing that. Also, you seem to think that the work you're putting in far exceeds the work that Chi O is putting in. Trust me, it doesn't. I've worked on philanthropy projects on similar scales of songfest. It's a nightmare. And I don't mean to take away from the efforts that everyone is putting in, but just realize that you aren't the only ones working your asses off. So please, open your eyes and realize the good that is being done not just by Chi O, but by everyone involved. The point of this is to better the community, not for entitled brats like you to be handed a trophy because "you worked so hard." Just do the right thing and don't expect anything out of it. You might realize you'll be much happier and far less cynical.

If you're going to hold a philanthropy event that is a competition, expect people to get competitive. Sure, while certain ChiO's on philanthropy committee may work really hard, the sororities involved also work SO HARD. So during rush when the ChiO's gloat about how incredible their philanthropy event is, just know that it's because they have every other sorority on campus pitching in. Songfest would be absolutely nothing without the hard work of other sororities. So try to make the competition a little more fair to the sororities involved instead of doing everything you can to benefit ChiO.

Definitely needs to be a Panhellenic event. All of the sororities put a lot of time, energy, and money into it.....and one house gets all the credit....such bs
