rushing as a northerner

There's a few Yankees in just about every fraternity here, including the top tier ones. They're not common, but that's just because Texas is pretty much as far South as it gets and there's not a lot of people from up north around here. You may have a slight issue with KA because they try to shape themselves as hardcore southerners, and maybe Fiji or Beta because they pretty much only bid kids from certain Texas high schools, but you should be fine with anyone else

Honestly, where you are from does not really matter when going through sorority recruitment IF you have good grades, were involved in high school, a good resume, etc

I'll assume you're talking about A&M too! Because sororities haven't been on campus for a long time we don't have tons and tons of old alumni who make us pledge exclusively white, southern girls. I'd say if you're a cool person with good grades, you're going to have a wonderful time!
