fall 2015 rush
by: Curious
How do sororities feel about upper-classmen girls rushing? I'm involved in organizations and have a fairly good GPA.
Does being a junior/senior matter a lot?
#1by: nope
#2by: Know the facts
Being a junior is the worst bc you're still counted in the upperclassmen quota. Houses are going to take sophs way before a junior because you have a soph for an extra year and that's extra income. Seniors aren't counted towards anything. They're essentially "free" when it comes to numbers. You don't see many seniors going through recruitment though.
#3by: It's hard work but
Get ready to get cut from a ton of houses just based in your age like even with good Rec letters and a great GPA many will still not want you but some will! Just expect to not get more than like 3 houses back the second day but remember it's for like not just two years so if you really want to go for it then do it!
#5by: Chapters
Chapters who are better at Recruitment will typically take no more than one junior at the maximum and that's only if she is very very close friends with members of that chapter already and basically is already a member just doesn't have a bid. The junior would also have to have perfect or near perfect grades, be attractive, and have a spotless reputation.
Kappa, Chi O and TriDelt take a junior about once every 3 years (not a rule just a pattern), ZTA never takes juniors (just an informal policy they have).
