do you need rec letters for rush
by: aggieif you don't have any, how badly does that impact your chances? and which chapters allow recs from current students (if so I assume they have to be at other campuses?)

No sorority requires them, but you will be released from some. Including Kappa, if you do not have one.

Hi!! It def depends on the sorority how important they are. Some you’ll be totally fine regardless, but others it’s a box you might wanna check. It shows that you’ve put effort to show interest in them. I would try and get one for every sorority you can. As long as they’re alum, they can be from someone at tamu!!! If you don’t know anyone associated with a sorority you need a rec for, investigate and see if there is a local Panhellenic alum organization from your area. They can connect you with woman who can write your recs!

Get LORs, even if you are told they aren't needed or that it's the chapter's responsibility to get them. There are chapters whose bylaws state that you a bid cannot be extended without a LOR. If you didn't provide one, chances are they'll cut you rather than seek one out on their own.

Kappa no longer requires LOR…. But wouldn’t matter anyways no one wants kappa anymore so they don’t even go to the effort of obtaining one for them!
