Which sororities aren’t “big names”
by: Big namePeople on here talk about joining sororities for the name or because they’re a popular sorority nationally. Which sororities would these be? And which ones at Tamu wouldn’t be? No shade to any houses, I’m just curious who the big names are

You can tell who lives on here.
In Texas (yes, I know it is because of UT and SMU but their alumni groups in the texas big cities are a great place for meeting people) phi phi, kappa, and Theta are the big deal names. Tri Delt and Chi o are generally considered very good also especially in the south.
Nationally those five are big names as are Alpha Phi and DG (although not in Texas). All are stronger or weaker in certain areas or schools though. I am NOT a Kappa and I know this will bring out the hate kappa crew, but I would say they are probably the strongest nationally.
Several of the others that have girls living on here are good in certain areas, but generally no one in Texas is impressed with those names. At you Zeta (although tons of chapters in Texas) ADPi and AXO.

These are the strongest chapters at the best schools. Some sororities (Theta, Kappa, Pi Phi) will not put chapters at lower academic schools. The sororities with strong chapters at the top schools nationwide are Theta, Kappa, Pi Phi, DG, Alpha Phi. East coast to West Coast.

That’s not what I’m asking. I’m already in a sorority, I was just curious which sororities people were talking about when they mention joining for the name
