PNMs listen up

by: truth

I rushed two years ago at A&M and dropped because the houses left on my list were what I considered to be "bottom houses". In high school I was popular, had all the material things and Instagram that I thought would land me a "top house". A couple months later I was desperate and COBd a house that I hadn't considered joining during rush and it completely changed my perspective. I had never felt more wanted and genuinely just felt like I was in the right place. Once you are in a sorority it doesn't matter what they are "ranked" or which frats they associate with. Each and every sorority has amazing girls and there is a place where you will find your people. Sometimes we find our people where we least expect them and gain the most amazing sisterhoods. Rush can be hurtful, but it doesn't define your worth, see it through!! Because I could have found my sisterhood earlier if I hadn't been so caught up in this website!!

This whole tier discussion really needs to stop. We’ve all graduated high school, we’re all adults–hell, many of us are in our twenties. How old do we have to get before the popularity contest stops? What has to happen for us to stop tearing down other chapters? We need to learn to stop judging from the outside. You don’t know anything about a chapter that isn't yours. There are nearly 200 women in each chapter at TAMU. Every chapter has a few HOCO queens, cheer captians and a few weirdos too. All the house have fun parties and good sisterhoods. Just find a slot and make friends and a little community at this huge school. Don't obsess about what some frat guy says the "ranking" is. Every single house will offer you a home - go find one that feels good!
