by: TruthIf you want city connections, go pi phi, kappa or theta. These are the alum networks you want.

the zeta /dg crew hates to admit it, but it’s true. As a senior planning to work in Dallas after graduation, I see how important it is. You get internship opportunities this way, invitations to deb parties, letters of recommendation for grad school, etc. all through your sisters’ connections

Coming from a recent graduate, it’s more about having been Panhellenic period. Most women, especially older alumna, get excited when talking to younger sorority women, especially if you get involved with your local Panhellenic Alumna group and your local sorority alumna group. You realize, just like in college, these older women also have or had lots of friends in XYZ sorority. Or their daughter became an ABC at such and such university or their niece just pledged MNOP at this other school. Don’t let all the “PKT” hype get in your head. And for that matter, don’t worry about tiers. It’s irrelevant.

Realize that when you join your alum group after college, it’s not just a bunch of older ladies, though they are wonderful. It’s recent grads your age from other schools : ut, vandy, uva, tcu, smu, etc. so keep that in mind. You’re getting to know your sisters from all over.
