Rushing at TAMU in Fall ‘22 as Blinn Team
by: OntheFenceI want to rush in the Fall at CS TAMU and am entering as a Blinn Team student because Mays was so competitive for full admit this year. Wondering if it is looked down upon by the houses if I am Blinn team. Does it hurt my chances at rush compared to others that are full admit? I saw a few prior posts but curious if there is a stigma.

Thanks for the replies. I had a friend who rushed 4-5 years ago while in Blinn Team and she said she experienced certain houses dropping girls who were Blinn Team specifically. That’s what I had read too…to be ready to be cut by a lot of houses for being Blinn Team. Just wondered if things had changed. At the end, I probably wouldn’t want to be a part of a house that is only on the surface like that if that’s still true.

That could be possible - maybe based on your high school GPA, IF it was below a sorority's cutoff? However, most people I know that did Blinn team were just under the cutoff for ACT/SAT scores and their GPA was good. It's so competitive! I know that our house doesn't drop girls specifically for being Blinn team. And you are right....who wants to be in a house that would drop you for that reason?

My gpa is 3.95 unweighted/4.8 weighted. ACT is 28 (equal to 1300-1320 SAT) but my high school is a huge competitive 6A so rank messed me up. Didn’t help that I applied to Mays as that is hard to get into as well. TAMU also saw record applications this year and lots of applicants with stats like mine or even better are getting TEAM instead of regular admit offers like they may have received if they were an applicant in past years.
