Transfer sororities
by: CuriousIf you are a DZ in good standing at another university and transfer to A&M will you be allowed to participate and be a member of their chapter automatically after transfer or do they have to “vote” on you?

Considering a transfer and like both universities. But want to confirm I could be active in sorority which would be important to me

You can not pledge one chapter and automatically be permitted to affiliate at another chapter. Some girls have tried to pledge a chapter at a smaller school with a less competitive recruitment or at another large school with a less popular chapter and then try to transfer to a desired chapter at a larger competitive school. There is no national rule requiring the chapter to accept transfers. It is up to each chapter and they consider each request individually, usually based upon quota, total, and compatibility of the member. Don’t try this on purpose. Pledge the right choice for you at the school you attend. Chapters are on to this.

The previous comment’s the truth; you’d be thoroughly looked into; the chapter will want to know if you’re coming from a strong/weak chapter, grades you made, wonder why you’re really transferring and if you’d truly fit in there. You won’t know but it’s highly likely there’s a vote.
