If anyone could answer these questions, please!

by: worriedaggie

Hi! I am a freshman at Tamu this year! I went through fall recruitment and dropped at sisterhood because of some family matters because I thought I was going to have to fly home. I am still interested in being apart of greek life! I emailed the Panhellenic about COBing but they have not answered yet. After bid day should I email the chapters and let them know that I am interested? Would it be better if I just messaged active members to tell them I am interested? If someone would give me advice it would be highly appreciated! I want to keep things positive here! Thank you!

1. Panhellenic is very busy with rush this week so do not expect a response. I would stop by the Greek Life office next week & ask them to share with COB eligible chapters that you are interested.

2. If you have friends who are actives (or friends who pledge tomorrow), wait until after the bid day excitement but do let them know if their chapter has any COB opportunities that you are interested. Do not DM random actives though.

3. Follow all chapters on social media. Sometimes they will post info about COB. I know several have done that in recent years.

4. If you got recs, you can also have your main rec writer for each chapter send a follow up letter/ email explaining you withdrew from rush due to a family emergency but are still very interested in joining a sorority should they have a COB opening this year. Extra points if they can include any positive personal antidotes about your experience meeting the chapter during rush.

You’ll find your home!
